A letter for you
Em,
What a year. We went from Hawaii to Guangzhou to Chicago, and you painted my shop, fed a whole Burning Man crew, taught KQED how to make laksa, ran Outside Lands, and kept showing up on Food Network like it was nothing.
It wasn't all easy. I put you through the wringer this spring, and you stayed and did the hard work with me on stuff that's decades old. Thank you for that. You also kept training even though you hate it, handled the growing pains of a business that's winning, and got closer to your mom, your sister, and your brother. Kieran is lucky to have you as his auntie.
You're changing how people see Singaporean food here, and hundreds of people love you for it. When you want something, you go get it, and somehow you make it fun the whole way.
I think your best year is the one starting today. I'm so lucky I get to be along for the ride.
